The Black Rat Rideout -
Sunday, 19 September 2010
Black Rat
Charity Rideout
through Catterick Garrison
In support of 4th Mechanized Brigade - the "Black Rats"
and The Black Rat Fund
INFORMATION UPDATE No.2: issued 1 June 2010
Oops! Those of you who have visited our information pages before might have noticed that we have changed the name of our event to:
The Black Rat Rideout
This is because our Fundraising Co-ordinator (who tries her best but isn't completely up to date with biking terminology) thought a Rally was the same as a Rideout - which apparently it isn't! Luckily some very kind souls have pointed this out and therefore we've changed the name of the event.
However, we thought we had better clarify things for you all...
The Black Rat Rideout is not an overnight event, but is a one day event where everyone will gather at Marne Barracks, ride the 22 miles Rideout circuit in groups and then disperse.
For those of you who might need to stay overnight in the area prior to the event we will be giving some details about local accommodation in the area on future information updates, but will not be providing a camp site or accommodation ourselves.
We're really sorry if we have caused any confusion!
A. Online Registration System
Our online registration system is still currently being prepared, but we are pleased to confirm....
We still anticipate that it will go live on
Monday, 14 June 2010.
This date will be confirmed closer to the time.
There will be limited places available for the Rideout, so we are encouraging you to complete your registration early.
B. Location and Marne Barracks Departure Point
There is no change to the information given in Update No. 1 - the departure point will still be Marne Barracks.
Map 1 – General Location of Marne Barracks
Map 2 – Access to Marne Barracks Main Gate from A1 – Northbound access shown in green, Southbound access shown in red.
We still anticipate that these gates will be open for rider entry from 8am.
For further information about Ride Slots and Arrival Times please refer to Information Update No. 1.
C. Black Rat Rideout Merchandise
We are really pleased to announce that we will be offering a fabulous range of goodies that you can purchase to commemorate the Rideout.
Items will include:
Tee Shirts - Sweatshirts - Hoodies - Patches - Keyrings - Mugs - Place Mats & Beer Mats - Stickers ... and more!
You will be able to purchase these items at the same time as completing your Online Registration for the Rideout.
That's all the new information we have at this time. Further Information Updates will be published in due course.
Charity Registration Number: The Black Rat Fund is currently an Excepted Charity as such does not hold a Charity Registration Number. However, we are still regulated and supervised by the Charity Commission, and comply with all the standards of practice that they require.
